In the beginning, when my boyfriend told me that he was going to hire a personal trainer for me, I wanted to cry. I was teaching full time and going to grad school in the evenings. Between work, college, lesson plans, and homework, I just didn’t think that I had any extra time to meet with a trainer. Yet, deep down, I also knew that I wouldn’t give myself the time to exercise on my own. I had always been an athletic person, but lately I had been slipping into, well, a state of flabbiness. My thighs and stomach were getting mushy, and I was feeling winded after short runs with the kids at school. I was not in the type of shape I wanted to be in, and I knew it would only get worse if I did nothing to stop it.

Reluctantly, I set up a meeting with Charles. He helped me to set some clear fitness goals: to regain my aerobic conditioning, to strengthen my core muscles, and to tone up my body all over. We worked out three times per week for about seven months. Charles has a great bedside manner as a trainer: he is very encouraging. He doesn’t yell or nag me to do any exercises that I think are too hard. Instead, he’s full of praise for when I complete a hard set of lunges or weights, and this makes me want to do more.

Now, seven months after beginning my training with Charles, I can honestly say that I am in better physical shape now at age 37 than I was at age 27! My arms are nicely toned, my butt is way more firm, and my stomach is nice and flat. I’m very happy with the results. Thank you, Charles!”

“Weight has been an issue my whole life, but I always felt pretty good. I was active but not on a regular exercise routine and yes, I have always love all the wrong foods. I was diagnosed with type II Diabetes in the late 90’s and became insulin dependent in 2007. This was also the year I began taking high blood pressure and high cholesterol medication. I lived in denial and angry that I had to “deal” with this condition and upset at the amount of medication I was taking at in my “middle age”. I started walking in hopes to counter attack weight gain and fatigue. I walked 5 times a week , no less than 3 miles each time. Not one pound was shed in a three month time period.

At this point it was obvious I needed help. After some research on local trainers/coaches, I met Charles Smith. We had a small exercise club three times a week and combined cardio with weight training. I began to see results and lost 40 pounds in a little over a year, more importantly I saw a drastic reduction in the medication I was taking – totally eliminating one of my two insulin medications. My doctor also confirmed that my A1C levels were back to normal.

I feel better and am in much better shape. Although my weight battle continues, it is because of Charles, his encouragement, consistent routines and personal care and attention that I have come this far.”
